WHAT I'VE LEARNED SO FAR MODULE 7 Three takeaways from module 7: In this module, I learned how important accessibility is for web pages. I know about other accessibility features that need to be addressed, but those are more for wheelchair or walker users, from my time working in a doctor's office that treats MS. I guess I hadn't thought about designing websites. Taking that into account, it should be at the forefront of everyone's thoughts when building sites.  I also learned how to start building a website. This will be instrumental in my ongoing schooling and throughout my future career. I am so excited to have that foundation. The last takeaway I'm going to list is how vital planning is when it comes to building a website. You need a plan to make it successful. If you go in and just "wing it", it's going to be so much more difficult!

WHAT I'VE LEARNED SO FAR Module 6 AR vs. VR vs. AI     The letters are similar; however, augmented reality, virtual reality, and artificial intelligence are all vastly different.  Augmented Reality is adding some sort of media to a view of the actual world.   Virtual Reality is seeing a completely different setting around you using a headset.  Artificial Intelligence is a machine that can learn, in its simplest terms.

WHAT I'VE LEARNED SO FAR MODULE 5  1. While going through this module, the thing that most surprised me was the sheer number of social media types. I knew about the big ones (Facebook, Twitter/X, Instagram, etc.), but I didn't realize just how many different things are considered social media. Online communication and etiquette: I've been communicating online since AIM was popular, so I'm pretty familiar with the information in that area. (I also remember asking Jeeves questions, yikes!)       I know we learned about Diigo in the last module, but that really stands out as what I will take most from the social media section. I find that so helpful in so many different areas of my life.  2. I watched this when it was first posted, but after watching it again after recent life events, I have a new appreciation for the information Erik gave. I want my digital footprint to be all about making the world a better place. That is so cliché, but it has never b...

MODULE 4 WHAT I'VE LEARNED SO FAR (Image from  https://www.freiheit.org/countering-fake-news ) This module taught us how to search effectively and find accurate information. It was particularly beneficial for me as I needed to gather sources for an English paper that was due. We learned how to filter out inaccurate or "fake news," and I recognized that I still need to improve in this area. This knowledge is important to me because I want to avoid falling for false information.   (Image from  https://askdaman.com/social-bookmarking-sites/ ) This module also taught us how to use social bookmarking. I wasn't aware this existed, but I love it! Diigo  will be very helpful as I continue my school journey. It's absolutely going to be helpful to have all the saved information in one spot.    MY PARTICIPATION  In complete transparency, I didn't give this module as much time and attention as I've given the last three. Some family issues and personal healt...

MODULE 3 WHAT I'VE LEARNED SO FAR     The internet can be a dangerous place. Shopping, banking, accessing medical records, and talking to friends are all things that have become so routine that sometimes we don't think about the security risks. Taking an internet safety course has helped me become aware of some things I have been somewhat lax on.

What I've learned so far in DIG110... Part II     This second module of DIG110 has been so interesting to me. I love to learn the "inner workings" of things; however, I've never really explored how the internet really works. After this module, I've been picturing the bits of data as tiny puzzle pieces in envelopes. They get broken up to fit into envelopes, sent off to their destination, and then get put back together again.  This website  gave some great information on how the information travels.          I also learned some great information (that has already helped me out!) about Google Chrome. I've customized my Chrome and set my home screen to the SUNY Niagara Homepage so I can quickly access Brightspace and get to work!     I feel as though I've put a lot of time and effort into this course so far, and I don't see that changing. It makes it easy when it is something that interests me! Terminology IP Address - This IDs a...

What I've learned so far in DIG110      It is difficult to narrow down all I've learned in this first module to just three things. There is so much new technology out that I had no idea about! In doing research for my Canva project, I learned about Agentic AI. I knew what AI was but I had never heard of Agentic AI . Learning about was surprising, because while I knew that AI could do a lot of things, I didn't realize that it could be used on such a human level.      While looking through my fellow students projects there was so much more to learn. From rings that can track your fitness and whole body wellness to extended reality where you can seemingly enter a whole different world. The possibilities are endless!     After learning about where technology is going, I went back to where it started. In learning the history of the internet, I realized it had many more steps to get where it is now than I realized. Learning it really started in the 1950...
